North American outdoor retailer Cabela’s has announced the opening of a new location at 45959 Towne Center Blvd. in Chesterfield Township. The store will be opening on Thursday, Aug. 3 and will be the brand’s fourth Michigan location, accompanied by stores in Dundee, Grandville, and Saginaw.
The 90,000-square-foot store is designed to offer customers an immersive outdoor experience, including Cabela’s signature mountain replica and wildlife display feature, more than 150 museum-quality taxidermy mounts, and vintage outdoor photos and memorabilia.Read More
Detroit City FC To Host 2017 NPSL Midwest Regional Tournament
Detroit City FC will host the 2017 National Premier Soccer League Midwest Region semifinals and final at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck next weekend. DCFC crushed Dakota Fusion, 5-1, Saturday in the opening round of the NPSL Midwest Region playoffs in front of 6,672 supporters at Keyworth Stadium, it said in a post on its website.

AAU Junior Olympics to Kick Off Next Week in Metro Detroit
The 51st annual Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympics are coming to metro Detroit next week, bringing a powerhouse of young athletic talent and a boost to the local economy.
More than 15,000 athletes, ranging in age from 5-20 are coming from across the country to compete in 18 sports competitions at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi and other area venues July 27-Aug. 5, according to a Thursday news release from the AAU. A total of 30,000 spectators is expected for the games. Since 2010, the Junior Olympics have brought more than $50 million to host cities, according to the AAU.Read More
